Answer. Chandrayaan 3 has used the following technologies in this mission:

(i) Altimeters: Laser & RF-based Altimeters

(ii) Velocimeters: Laser Doppler Velocimeter & Lander Horizontal Velocity Camera

(iii) Inertial Measurement: Laser Gyro based Inertial referencing and Accelerometer package

(iv) Propulsion System: 800N Throttleable Liquid Engines, 58N attitude thrusters & Throttleable Engine Control Electronics

(v) Navigation, Guidance & Control (NGC): Powered Descent Trajectory design and associate software elements

(vi) Hazard Detection and Avoidance: Lander Hazard Detection & Avoidance Camera and Processing Algorithm

10.What is the total weight of the rocket?

Answer. The rocket consists of a Propulsion Module which weighs 2148 kg, a Lander Module which weighs 1752 kg, and a Rover of 26 kg, which in total makes it 3900 Kg.

11.What is the name of the rocket used in Chandrayaan 3?

Answer.  The rocket used in Chandrayaan 3 is named as LVM3-M4 (Fat Boy).

12.Is Chandrayaan 3, an unmanned mission?

Answer. Yes, Chandrayaan 3 is an unmanned Mission. However, it consists of a lander and Rover named as Vikram and Pragyan, respectively.

13.How much time will the mission take to complete?

Answer. The mission is expected to be completed in ‘about a month’.

14.When will the rocket land on the moon?

Answer.  The expected date of landing on the moon is 23rd August 2023. After landing, it will operate for 1 lunar day, which is equal to 14 Earth days.

15.Why is Chandrayaan 3 important for India?

Answer. Successful completion of Chandrayaan 3 will make India, the fourth country on Earth, to make a soft landing on the moon. Further, India would be the first country to make a landing on the south pole of the moon, an area that remains largely unexplored yet.

World Book & Copyright Day 2023

World Book Day, also known as World Book and Copyright Day, is celebrated annually on April 23rd. It is a day dedicated to promoting the benefits of reading, writing, translating, publishing, and protecting copyrights. World Book Day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1995 to promote reading, publishing, and copyright protection worldwide. World Book Day 2023: History

The original concept for World Book Day was conceived by Vicente Clavel, the director of Cervantes publishing house in Barcelona, in 1922. Clavel intended to honor the renowned author Miguel de Cervantes and boost book sales. The first celebration took place on October 7, 1926, which was Cervantes’ birthday, before it was later moved to April 23, his date of death, in 1930. This tradition continues to be widely popular in Catalonia, where it is known as Sant Jordi’s Day or The Day of Books and Roses.

In 1995, UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, designated April 23 as the official date for World Book and Copyright Day. This date also marks the anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, as well as the birth or death of other prominent authors. The aim of World Book and Copyright Day is to celebrate books, promote reading, and highlight the importance of copyright protection for authors and publishers worldwide.

Pustakophar 2023

 

“Think of giving not as a duty, but as a privilege.” The main aim for organizing Pusthakopahaar in KV's is to inculcate the value of sharing and caring our environment and sensitize student about reuse of books for better environment. This initiative also gives strength to the minds who are not able to afford the cost of the new books/ study material to enhance their skills/knowledge or pursue their courses of studies. The students ,Parents and teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya BSF Camp chhawla donated the previous years books with great zeal and enthusiasm.  These books are further given to the needy students so that their learning process does not get affected due to the absence of text books and study materials. Altogether 125 students and teacher have donated the books and  132 students got benefited of this pustakophar scheme this year.

Besides, books donation drives various literary activities such as Poster making ,Write up, Speech, charts etc on the theme of Book Donation and Recycle of Paper have been organized to foster the positive impact of reuse of book and study material in the minds of students.
